Sibelius play back gone wrong....

OK, this was really weird...

Just before, my playback on sibelius suddenly sounded TERRIBLE. For some reason, certain instruments had suddenly transposed, but not others....

As an example, in the piece I'm working on, the clarinet has a quaver idea, alternating between Eb and F. When the flute picked up the same idea and same notes, it did not sound the same!

The only thing that I figured could have triggered it was that earlier today I installed Finale Notepad 2008. I therefore uninstalled it and guess what? Problem solved!

Does anyone have any idea what just happened to me?

Well it sounds like there was a problem with the two programs being on the same computer (duh)... must be something in the code- Finale is finally getting so mad at Sibelius for all their sales that they have a free download that attacks Sibelius!! (J/K)

Or... just interacting codes. It could have also been a pure coincidence that it went away when you uninstalled Finale, but I wouldn't know...

Just some thoughts!

Once I had this very strange phenomenon... My flutes played some kind of slowed down glissando, even though there was NO glissando at all... and the tempo of the piece, it was as though the program (Sibelius) was lagging.

Very strange. But it sounded good in fact, so I inserted a glissando there. It was not the same, but still good...

It does that sometimes. You just have to get used to it. Taking deep breathes help.
