Wow I envy you, my lowest note is also D2 but my highest is G4. Do you take singing lessons?

A baritone that sings to D2? Sounds more like a bass and almost of the profound persuasion!

Yes, I do. I actually am a better singer than I am composer.

For some reason the first file wouldn't play for me. The second one played fine--comments soon--but the first one opened, but wouldn't play.

It does seem more like a bass but it take more than range to determine a voice type. So it is very possible to have the range of a bass and still be a baritione. Many Mezzos have the same exact ranges and Sopranos even into the coloratura extentions but the coloring and "behavior" of the voice lends itself to the Mezzo category.
