Strange challenge

I had been thinking about something like this 4 a while and have even attempted it twice. Never finished though. Since rap music samples classical music as well as various other types of music. I was wondering if anyone was daring enough to "sample" a rap song by changing it into a classical song. Most rap is very repetitive and it is hard because u have to find a song that has enough melody in order to create a descent song out of it. I recreated TI's what you know and Young Jeezy's Hypnotize. Never finished them but they turned out way better than expected. Both were written for organ.

Not quite classical music, but Lester Bowie's Brass Fantasy offers slightly tongue-in-cheek renditions of pop tunes, and often rap songs.

Dig Notorious Thugs from The Odyssey of Funk & Popular Music (dig also the smooth version of the Spice Girls' When Two Become One...it's not a rap song, but spectacular nonetheless.)

Also, from When the Spirit Returns is Player Hater...

Probably not what you were expecting, and I really doubt any 'serious' classical composers would have the creativity nor the balls to try a stunt like arranging a rap song... ...BUT, maybe there's some out there. I dunno.

I wouldn't arrange you a rap track, a rock track might be a different matter though...
Or even reggae... Bob Marley string quartet

yea i think rap would have more creativity to unleash than a rock classical arrangement because rap is so simple that u could make up an entire piece thats pretty much all yours.

Well, quite a lot of Bob Marley's backing music is simple riffs and melodys, with the off beat chords...
