Here's my string quartet. It's needing some work I'm afraid and would like to see what others think. Sorry, but its in the form of a .Mus (finale) file.

First off, is the double stop in the 1st Violin you begin with possible? It sounds really nice, I just wonder if it is phyiascally possible to play it. I don't know enough about Violin fingering to know for sure.

You've got soe nice themes here that you rotate between fairly well. I cannot quite figure out what structure you have given the piece. Is it in Sonata-Allegro form, or something else?

I think you've got a good grasp of what the instruments are capable of (other than the initial question), and you definitely have a nice movement here for aString Quartet. It's inventive, and I love the buildup at the end. Very nicely played.

Thank you for the input, it is very much appreciated. As for the starting triple stop; it is able to be played quite simply unless I wrote it wrong (open G string, first finger on the D string, and third finger on the A string). I plan to write the whole quartet in a 4 movement (Fast, Slow, Minuet, Fast) style similar to that of German composers (Mozart, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Schubert, etc). Again thank you for your comments, I am going to start the second movement soon.

Advice on making the piece describe what you want:

Articulate the notes! add slurs add staccato, marcato. Up bows DOwn BOws! That would add alot of expression to the piece and make you look proffessional. Play it on the piano

It needs to be longer and you need to have your idea become more profound.

Have a profound day!
