Could you place post a midi for those who have Sibelius and the older version of Finale (like me)

The score would be MUCH more effective if there were phrasings/slurs and dynamics.

The solo oboe part at one point doesn't balance with the rest of the ensemble.

In musical criticism, when issues of craft and technical consideration are set aside, what remains is more subjective. However, until technical issues are dealt with, the subjective portion bears considerably less weight.

.
A friend of mine once explained to me that the four most important elements of music are (in no particular order)

Dynamics
Articulations
Phrasings
Tempo

Without these, you just have notes on paper. Even if a piece sounds like you want it to sound (by use of the computer) without these, no one would be able to duplicate it in a real setting.

What you have here is a nice beginning, but now you need to start the hard work of getting the 4 Horseman of music into your pieces. Start by studying all of the scores you can get your hands on. Then start relaying that info into your own works.

Hope that helps.

Ron
