Hey Guys, here's my newest piece, and the title track of my next CD

I don't know if it would really qualify as 'minimalist' but I thought it would be a nice challenge to write a piece that concentrates more on harmony than melody

I wrote it at around 2 AM about 4 days ago, because I couldn't sleep, and recorded it yesterday

Any comments welcome

SoundClick artist: William Daniel Kirkland - A steel string playing classical guitarist

EDIT: I also want to point out that I'm not an expert on Minimalism itself, so if it's not truly "minimalist" then any enlightening would help

I think it's a nice piece, I don't think it's strictly minimal. Definitely influenced I'd say, I think minimalism has to have more layers of music with alternating rhythms and ostinatos. I'd say it's as minimal as Michael Nyman (this was intended as a compliment). And easily better than Einaudi.

I really enjoyed the harmonies though they were awesome.

Thanks fourthage

I agree with you about the whole minimal idea, like I said I'm not an expert on the subject

Thanks for listening though

its nice..definitely music to just get lost in. I don't know how high it ranks on the uniqueness scale but it is a pretty set of chords that is minimalistic in the way it is heard i think, you just are listening and soon stop concentrating and just kind of go into a daze.
