Symphony X: "The Odyssey"

"The Odyssey" is an epic song by Symphony X off the album of the same name. It clocks in at over 24 minutes, and it's all pure sex. It's metal stuff, but it does draw from some classical/symphonic influences, so I figure that at least some of you will like it. It's based on the epic poem by Homer, which just makes it even cooler.

Part I
Part II
Part III
Part IV
Part V
Part VI
Part VII

Is the orchestra completely synthesized? :-\

For the record, I've heard of this group before. I'm not big on this style of "metal". As far as more progressive rock goes, I'm definitely a Tool fan. Metallica was good too, but I don't know what it is, but when I hear guitars and strings and these massive sort of productions, my brain just shuts off.

Yep. It's a bunch of metal dudes from New Jersey--they don't exactly have a full orchestra at their disposal. :-/

Ah yeah! I love symphonic metal. But then again, I like almost all kinds progressive metal, Tool included.
