Sight Reading Exercises

Salutations dear fellows.

My summer goal is learning to exercise in sight reading as much as possible. Do you have any tips on good books that I can find on the internet? So far I really liked Schaffer's sight reading exercises but I found only book 1 and 3. If you have book 2 or know where to find it I would be SO greatful.

Anyhow I compensate with Bartok's microcosmos Volume II so far or Czerny's first exercises. I must say I loose passion with Bartok. It sure is interesting but it doesn't give me the right euphoria. Schaffer was rewarding in nice melodies so it felt pleasant to play it right away and correctly.

Any kind of advice on this topic is much appreciated, thank you. :)

The way I work on my sight reading is to just find music I've never worked on before and sight read through it.  Trying to read along with pieces on this site at speed is a good challenge, since I know there's no way I've ever heard them before.  I think the key is to practice sight reading often, for short amounts of time.  We expect children learning to read to read a little bit every day.  Preferably a little bit, several times a day.  And they alternate between reading the same bedtime story over and over again, that they really have memorized from listening to their parents, and reading totally new material.  There is free sheet music all over the internet.  I don't even bother to print pieces out, I just read off of the pdf on my screen.  (:  Good for you!  Hope it's going really well!

Thanks a lot :) although I do not own a tablet and my smartphone is so broken it hardly connects to wifi and has small display. I found a lot of intermediate piano pieces on internet and it is rewarding and good for exercise.

I am practicing like that so far untill I find some good sight reading exercise book like Schaffer or advance enough to at least jump over the  book 2 (which I cannot find) to the book 3.

Don't you know by any chance some easy sheet books? Like Sonatas of Haydn or Beethoven but smaller and easier pieces. Something like that Bartok's Microcosmos.
