Composer Needed For A Theme Song

Recommended Posts

Hello, YoungComposers community!

I am here to look for a composer for my project, "The Lion and the Swan."

The Lion and the Swan is a tale set in the Middle Ages. Although not historically accurate, it attempts to paint an idyllic atmosphere that reflects the heroic, "larger than life" view we have of the time of wandering troubadours, dashing knights, and evil tyrants.

This tale seeks to explore the the concepts of honor, friendship, loyalty, and love. I would love to summarize the story for you here, but I wouldn't want to give away any spoilers to the general public!

The Lion and the Swan is an audio drama that will broadcast on YouTube hopefully by the beginning of 2015. I'm still in the process of finding artists and voice actors.

The theme you compose should be symphonic, reminiscent of the work of people such as Jeremy Soule and Inon Zur. The story is set in Northern Europe during the Middle Age, so the tune should sound Medieval with a hint of "Celtic." Most importantly, however, it should be memorable and catchy, like the Morrowind and Skyrim theme songs.

Of course, the question you are probably asking is "is this a paid job?" The answer is, at this point, probably. Everything depends on whether the kickstarter campaign receives enough funding. We can discuss rates over email. However, I understand the struggle of artists to make a living and get paid for their work. I'm a musician as well. So, I don't expect you to start working on the piece until you are assured of payment (unless you want to, of course). The reason I am posting this advertisement here now is so that I can hopefully get the ball rolling as quickly as possible.

If you are interested in this job, please send me an email at ansuzthurisaztiwaz@gmail.com. Please also include a sample of your previous work (any file will do, or a link to a website like soundcloud or youtube). If we decide to work together,

The deadline for submissions to this project is October 31st, 2014.
