hey it sounds really good. i like the e/s versions the best. have you tried bassoon and oboe? i dunno, but that has always been a favourite combination of mine. it would sound really good too lol.

if ur gonna put this in a sonata or something, it should be the last movement. you might have already been thinking this, but to me this sounds like a rondo, so maybe think about that. sounds good though, keep writing!

Why not oboe and clarinet, respectively? I think it would sound lovely on oboe. It doesn't sound like a flute piece to me, very oboe. If not oboe and clarinet, try oboe and bassoon, see how you like that, it seems a novel idea to me. I like piano accomp., but some parts sound empty, like it just needs that full string sound. I say see if you can get it to work with the orchestra first (if you go for oboe, oboe and strings are the best combo, oboe and piano isn't as ... I can't describe it, oboe needs more behind it than a piano, and this theme sounds suited to oboe to me.)

Definitely a 3rd movement idea, thought not for the opening, obviously.
