Too Hot - Dub/Reggae

This is my attempt at making Dub. For those that don't know, Dub is a genre very similar to reggae. It does not usually use full vocals and there is big emphasis on the groove and the bass.

I made this in Reason 3.0 and used a few samples of old reggae and ska records for the fills and effects.(which is what the original dub producers did, although sometimes they had the whole reggae song in multitrack and made a 'dub ' version of the song. This is how modern remixing originated...) It has a very low bass which might not work quite right on some speakers (I still have to finalise the mix)
I'd quite like to know what people think of the bassline in the middle section. Does it fit?

Anyway, enjoy:

I could hear the bass fine. IMO the bass in the middle could use a slight bit of variation. Maybe a hammer on a note or two or a 32nd note thrown in from time to time. Interesting piece! I would have thought that this was reggae. But I don't know much.

Thanks for commenting. Yeah I agree about the bass, I'll have a play around, see what I can do.

It's got a great groove - a fun, dancey party tune. Will you be adding a melody/lead vocal? While the groove is tight, it may benefit from something floating on top...

Still, a very cool sound...

Thanks Robin!
I'd love to add a main vocal, thing is, I sound nothing like a Jamaican!
Anyway, dub doesn't usually have vocals, just little delay-drunched snippets.
I could add another melody, maybe a sax or guitar solo...
