Two piano pieces

To Lydia
Tango sonata

I would say these are the only two pieces I have completed ever, if I can say the "tango" one is completed. The first one I made it about 5 years ago while in love and finished it when kinda stopped being in love. I have always had truobles finishing what I start. I've been trying to use the sonata form as a last resource to give it a structure to my pieces, and that's what my second one is. But still I feel like the first one (To Lydia) has a much better structure. I mean, the last note sounds to me so much like a last note, almost like a list sigh. I probably should stop trying to make sonatas and just follow my instinct. What do you guys think.
Oh and by the way, this is my first post on this forum, which I think is amazing, being looking for something like this for years.

I only listed to To Lydia, I'll comment on the other at a later time (I'm vewy vewy tired). This piece is very simple, yet very passionate. It's obvious you poured emotion into this one, the voice is extremely clear in its intentions. I'm not the one to talk about form, in fact, I'm horrible with it...please teach me lol. Anyway, i liked this piece. My only minor (and i do mean minor) beef with it is that I think you could of used some more interesting chords to give it a better feel, but again, that's something I had to force out just because I rather enjoyed the simplicity of the piece. In fact, making it more spicy might ruin the mood....so...ya...I liked it

I listended to lydia and found it rather beautiful. The mood you create an it's tramsformation into the "well goodbye then" feeling is realy clearly feelable and reconizable. This is do to your interpretation of it, but it's very nice. The only thing i would argue for is to have some clearer organized statenments in the middle section. I might just be me, but that part just goes along a bit. Overall it's a realy nice, touching piece. Have you shown it to lydia? Or is that out of the question?

As for the Tango sonata, I think you managed to combine the dramatic tango/latin melodies and typical classical elements very nice. I Felt like the piece lost it's direction towards the end(around 4.10), but this is also a nice piece.

If you struckle with finishing piece you can try to work on multiple project at the same time. Maybe you already do so, but for me that works. I finish one, am halfway another and just started a thirth you know. Well nice pieces and espacially lydia made an impression on me.

If you want more reviews post a score, some people won't review unless there is one and those are often the people who can be realy helpfull. I never post a score, but if you have one be sure to post it.

I'm not sure I have much insight to offer you, but these are really nice pieces. The emotional texture to Lydia is very clear, and the tango is also very well done (except for the ending, which sounds like it falls a little flat, like you wrote more afterwards and chopped it short). That's a minor criticism though. I just wish I could play as well as you.
