Two Riddle Canons

A few months ago, I composed two riddle canons, each for a specific dedicatee (whose names will not be disclosed). Since I haven't publicised them that much, I thought now would be the appropriate time to do so.

So, without further ado:

Canon 1: Soggetto with inversion
The first voice presents the soggetto (theme), whilst the second voice presents the inverted form of the soggetto, beginning at the segno.

Realisation: http://vielle.ws/downloads/1%20Canon.MID

Canon 2: Canon duplex a 4 voci
This canon is comprised of two sub-canons: the first one presents a soggetto in its first voice with its retrograde in the second voice; the second one presents an motif, retrograded in its second voice.

Realisation: http://vielle.ws/downloads/2%20Canon.MID

I shall post PDFs of the realisation soon.

I got a kick out of these. Very nice work!
