Smile An Unusual Sonata ... Please Listen

Hi,

I set out to write a suite that combines unlikely genres ... Pop music and classical music with a bit of Soul! This is one part of a piano suite I plan on finishing.

About this Piece

Goal: My goal is to have the rhythm and style of Pop music, but use many classical techniques like modulation, theme development, phrasing, etc... not typically found in the average Pop piece.

Style: Can be loosely classified as Sonata Form. Three Movements; Exposition->Development->Recap.

Time Spent So Far: So far, I've spent 14 hours on this sonata.

Length: Approx 9.5 minutes long (yes, I'm really serious about this style...)

So please take a listen. I appreciate any comments since they help a lot, especially in figuring out this style (Classical Pop ??? ).

MP3: Fusion_Sonata - eSnips, share anything
Score: Fusion Sonata - eSnips, share anything
MIDI: Fusion_Sonata - eSnips, share anything
Finale 2007: Fusion Sonata - Shark Walk Suite - eSnips, share anything

Score and MIDIs are posted. But the articulation and dynamics are much better on the MP3. I hope this is as fun to listen to as it was for me to write.

I like it a lot, very developed, hard to believe you only composed it in less than a day! Keep up the good work and don't forget to page me when you have further compositions!

sincerely,

S.V.I
