Vision Surréaliste

This is another work written for piano and clarinet. It's supposed to be bizarre and evocative, but very.. uh, abstract I guess. I think I utterly failed at this, though.

I did have a specific scene in mind, but I won't tell you about it as I don't want this to be perceived as program music.

There's a midi. There's no actual score, but an extract from the rough finale file (don't mind the title it displays..)- you can look at that if anything interests you.

Bonne nuit!

Abstract, yes... program, nahh.

Very interesting the way you actually made it SOUND like it had some essence of form. I am not sure if you did that on purpose though. it has a beginning, middle, and end. (hehe, it would get an 'A' on a fourth grade paper... sorry, bad joke.)

I thought it had it's moments, but to be bluntly honest, it didn't really hold anything special for me. Even for modern music, though given what the scene was I would probably be more inclined to understand the piece, but that's O.K.

In the technical aspect, were you just intending the last note to be the lowest note on the piano, because not even my Finale goes that low, hehe, and THAT is stretching playability when Finale cannot do it. So, yeah, clarify that in the score maybe? thanks.

-Morivou-

P.S. It was very nice!

Yes that's where I thought I failed; Some echoes of sonatina/sonata form slipped in. And I'm glad you think I'm up to 4th grade standard! Thanks for listening.

PS: Just ignore the last note on the finale extract- it's just there to prevent the MIDI from cutting off too early
