For those who concern themselves with the "digital package" aspect of music (aka, you fixate more on the mp3 audio file than the written score or a live performance), do you know of any ways to make an interesting video to accompany music, other than just setting it to clips from a movie/tv show or a cycle of still pictures?
For example, I tried using a "screen camera" to record the iTunes visualizer while playing my music, but it always lagged.
I also tried syncing the music to the actual notation itself, like this:

...but it looks kind of ugly to anyone who isn't already a composer or musician. The thumbnail pic for the video on Youtube looks horribly bland.
So, anyone have any ideas? I thought about setting the music to poetry or some other text, but that would just distract too much from the music. Plus, it's a little cheap to make program music out of music that isn't already program music.
