I'm 58

Yeah, no typo unfortunately.

I'm a really great instructor though! I used to teach physics and math.

Unfortunately I don't know the first thing about music theory or composing.

I just came here because I want to see what kind of music people are writing, and see if I can learn anything from them. So far I’ve learned a lot.

For example, I've already learned that I'll never be able to compose as well as most 15 year olds.

The other thing I've learned is that young composers are very mature for their age and tend to have very professional attitudes. I guess it takes a certain intelligence and maturity to compose music in the first place.

On the bright side, I’ve only been into music at all for about two years. So in a sense I’m only a 2 year old. I’ve been commenting on people’s music already just because I like giving people a hard time. I haven’t written anything to post yet, but I have something in the works. I know it’s going to suck big time, but hey, a person has to start somewhere right?

I haven’t read the whole thread. Am I the oldest fart on here?

hehe! Nice post!

No you're not the oldest fart I believe...

Young Composers mature? HAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! (actually some are, and some aren't, it comes with the age I guess... And I'm 30, not a young composer anymore).

Also.

Never say never. If you have enough passion at 58 to be on the internet searching, I bet you can write better music.
