Jonathon, I wish to hire you to become our fjøsnisse. Taking your temperament in consideration, I think you'd do very good at it.

Jeeze!
Who the hell has only two computers nowadays?????

Oh, you meant, like, as in... don't have that many?

Oh, ok, then, never mind... teehee!

(I have three just at my workstation except I only really use one every day, the other is for older files. And technically, the third one at my workdesk is really my hubby's for gaming... so... yeah, well, nevermind forget I said that..
We must have at least 12 computers in the house, though technically, only five are really "functional" as in get used every day, well, only four if you don't count the laptop. Am I rambling?).

In musical criticism, when issues of craft and technical consideration are set aside, what remains is more subjective. However, until technical issues are dealt with, the subjective portion bears considerably less weight.

(yes you are)

I have one but I'm really considering getting a second (huge) one. You know the... 4xcores 3 GHz, 16 GB RAM, 20" screen, 3 hard disks, etc type... That will set me back... hmm... a lot...

but yes, I have only 1 computer currently.

But to my parents in law they have air conditioning in every room. That's... 3 rooms + kitchen + living room + TV room. 6 air conditioners. Cool huh? Especially in the summer it is cool!

(Am I rambling now?)

Why?

On both occasions:

16 GB RAM: I have a hard disk with 180 GB of samples in. I'm getting tired of all that bouncing you know...

apple: Why? It looked pretty fine to me and I'm a sworn PC user since the age of 8 or so (22 years now. Started with an Amstrad 1512 in 1986 or 5)

ok, apple is indeed pretty cool and also pretty much makes the fastest computers nowadays. i'd love to own a mac pro, but not for the price.
apple is like gibson, or every other big brand, their prices are just plain ridiculous, out of proportion that is.
and 16gb of ram? well, be my guest and buy it. too bad nobody developed a way for computers todistribute the workload over that much amount of ram, no computer does this efficiently.

i'll wait for a few yrs before buying such a heavy computer, for now, my current one will do fine.

how much ram are you using now (and how much instruments/articulations)?

Gibsons are actually quite affordable...
