I love winter, and there is nothing better than little jingles to announce christmas and the snow...oh the snow..
well this little piece welcomes winter. I would like to say that this choral piece was based on a poem by a fellow named Joan Adams Burchell. The poem reads as follow:

The beauty of a winter's morn -
when snow is fresh and clean;
Boughs on evergreens clothed in white -
a pretty sight to be seen.
Bushes are, themselves, a garden -
to be remembered in the spring;
A postcard scene on a winter's morn,
to me, is everything.

the beginning and the development took me about a week. After 3 weeks I wrote the ending.
It's a short peace; but welcomes this beautiful season with love. This piece was indented to compete in a competition of young composers but unfortunately I passed the deadline.
I pretty much respected the rules in classical writing and used ABBC form.

wishper to me if sounded like winter

This doesn't specifically remind me of winter, but kind of a general church hymn. Given the song without the title I wouldn't have guessed.

If you're not aiming to keep this flute-only you could use chimes to get a crystal-like effect.

Anyway, I like the harmonizing, but I couldn't pull too much melody from it. I can't quite imagine this being a choral piece.

i like your style. very nice piece, very evocative for me, one who loves the winter and snow too... i have gretaly enjoyed the delicate and exquisite harmony and the sensitive melodic lines. there is a so touching and loving warmth to this composition! i can't stop listening! lovely job!

Thanks Frantz...though there are a couple of places in the piece I want to revise.
