Wintery Mix

Hey all, I guess I should make my virgin post in here. I wrote something for a NeverWinter Nights mod somebody was working on. Supposed to be a wintery, yet scary mountain level. So here it is!

Great opening chords! It really catches a 'wintery' feel. The following string chords on top of the bass really works for how you've described the level. I would have liked to have more going on in some areas (especially the solo piano part). Although what you have sounds great, I think a little more would make this track really stand out! Great job!

Thanks man
I've modified the MP3 so it doesn't cut off so harshly, which you can download here: http://drumultima.googlepages.com/winterymix2.mp3

Very moody piece, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I found it very transportive, I think the blending of instruments gave it a very interesting feeling. I would have enjoyed slightly less repetition.

The starting strings were really beautiful, when the bass came in, the whole mood changes, and I have mixed feelings about that. The comping chords sound a little out of place, as well as the flute. But when the percussion instrument comes in (marimba?) the winter feel was stregthened, very good on this part. The instruments here layer each other nicely.

The piano part was great, I loved it! I like how you carry the melody through the arpeggiated figures, reminds me of the end credits of the E.T OST.

Great piece!
