Woodwind Fanfare

I made a Woodwind fanfare because some woodwinds (including me) wanted some cheer that we could play, and not the brass as they have their own. >.>

Here's "Go Woodwinds!"

Also, I only wrote for Flute/Bb Clarinet/Alto Sax/Tenor Sax because those are the only winds we have (Piccolos can double flute parts...)

It has the energy of a fanfare, and I like the introduction, but I feel it fails to achieve a significant climax, which would make it quite interesting.

Either lengthen or change it at 0:10-ish, after which it just seems to repeat.

This could be quite a nice piece...

Keep up the good work!

This is not very good at all.. next time start with some kind of theme--solid, simple, memorable if possible. I've listened to it about six times now and I remember nothing. If someone asked me how it went, I'd have no response because the individual lines of music aren't strong. Pay a little more attention to clarity of melody and get involved maybe with a harmony/theory class offered at your high school to improve your skills in harmonic clarity. If you put a little thought into it outside of staring into the Finale window in the moment trying to come up with quality music I'm sure you'll be successful. I know you're not writing the final movement of the Jupiter symphony here, but if you learn theory (either at this site which is a good oppurtunity or from your school) and put a little more thought into your work, you'll have a very good fanfare to impress your friends with.

I am already taking Music Theory at my school. All this song was to be, was a short fanfare-ish song that any brass payers at our school couldn't play. It was made just for fun, and no seriousness was put into the piece.

Also: Its supposed to challenge the players as well. I spent 10 minutes on this piece, max. I'm guessing I should have put some background to why I wrote the piece and such. Plus, the song has no true melodies, really. lol.

*end useless rant*

Yeah, this piece is quite different from all the other pieces I have here. =p

Your other pieces are really good.. I listened to a couple of them. I'd suggest spending more time with this and going back, adding melody and such. Where are you in theory? At cadences and part writing in root position? part writing w/ inversions yet?

Wow, if that isn't a fanfare then I don't know what is...

I couldn't hear the main melody....

I believe this piece may just be right for a commercial advertising an allergy medicine!!

(And that's good, atleast for me it is anyway)
