Hope you do not mind me butting it like this. Just wanted to say that the piece is really turning out well

Just remember to re-use motives

Hey, was on holiday, and hit a rut of laziness, but here it is!
Where I started with the new violin 1 part, please resolve into a Dminor chord. further than that, we do as usual, go wild. Does the melody sound familiar?(thanks Saiming)

Okay, here we go again, and again, and again...

and merry christmas by the way

I would suggest a ritenuto over the last measure and the following one, (to about 70 bpm), followed by an "a tempo" (tempo primo)

Wouldn't that be a good idea?

Is it just me or does anybody else think we're starting to lose the focus here?

There's a few bits that need thought through a little more I think. Do we all agree that the middle section/development begins at (according to the most recent MIDI) 1:46? That's where the tempo picks up a little (I need to kick it down a notch, though), so it's an obvious 'development' in the piece so far.

The way this has been turning out, the first problem I notice is at 2:16... it just seems like it's starting to go off tangent and we didn't do too much afterwards to make it fit. Also, the harmony at 2:23 in my opinion just plain needs reworked, provided we keep it, it just doesn't fit the rest of the piece. At 2:30, everything just seems weak... it's kinda droning on, and I know no idea how we could fix it. We tried to bring back an idea from earlier in the piece, but for some reason, I don't think it worked very well. The return to the slower tempo with the main theme was also a little iffy, I think we need to find a better way to accomplish that.

I think we need to get rid of all of that.... we need to find a better way to bridge from 2:16 to like ... 2:38 ..... all that stuff in between seems like a mess to me. Does anybody else agree with me?

Or we could just put in a good strong cadence and call it complete for now. We might start a new one and call this one an experiment in teamwork. We might just need to do some planning ahead for the next one, in terms of structure and so forth.

I'm for ending it. It grows uncontrolled...

It did, but it's not like we couldn't salvage it. If we want to get anywhere, we'll need to really be active in putting our ideas forth to the others and doing a lot of planning. We'll also need to be here at least once every other day if we don't want it to take for ever, like this sort of has.

Maybe.... I'd could finish this one up myself, make it sound a little more controlled, and we could start a new one. Unless anybody is up for salvaging this one, is has some nice material here and there.

If we're moving on to something new, remember this will take a long time to finish, so if anybody has any qualms, now is the time to leave or at least speak up.

Uncontroled Romantic Baroque

Hi, I had much fun reading and listening this thread. And found it very interesting of course. Idea is fun but not plausible in my opinion. Anyway maybe you should write 8 by 8 measures (complete staves) each. And to arrange and talk in advance about form of the piece.

I wish you more luck next time.
