YC String Quartet no.1

I'm starting a collaborative project in which there is four participants, and we will write the music for a string quartet together.

P1 = player 1
P2 = player 2 etc.

P1(me for starters) will give the first 8 bars of the piece for first violin.

P2 will then proceed to give the 2nd violin part for the above mentioned 8 bars.

P3 will do the same for viola.

P4 will do the same for cello.

Then we move on. P4 now gives the next 8 bars as 1st violin, P1 does 2nd violin, P2 viola and P3 cello.

Then we move on again and P3 now does 8 bars as 1st violin, P4 does 2nd violin, P1 viola and P2 cello.

Then P2 starts us of again.

This repeats untill we are happy.

I want to do it in a romantic style, so that it is tonal, but not too strict on rules.

If more than 4 people want to play then new string qaurtets can be started.

I will post the first 8 bars as soon as I have a full quartet, first come, first serve.

List of players:

P1: Paginani
P2 : Blueygh2
P3 : MusicManJ4
P4 : Fauzie

Blue is in!

And if nobody joins by tomorrow, I'll post the melody and Blue can do his part, I hope that lures them...

Will do. Been thinking about it for a while. Sure, add me on to the list. Should be fun if we take enough care.

I'd like to join if that's okay.. I'm kinda new to the whole composing/YC thing, but I should have Finale or Rosegarden up and running within a few days.. or is it too late to join?

Well seems like you just made it in time. You would then be P4, but it's up to Paganini to judge this.

Everybody here uses Finale? I have only 2002, so I'll need midis in addition to .mus. (both, please)

Being a collaborative work, it would be easiest to work with midis and to convert it when finished.

Oh and I don't use Finale

I have both Finale and Rosegarden.. Finale is easier to use for Rosegarden is easier to get to work on Linux..
the only thing now is to configure it so it will paly MIDI.. =P
