This was really awesome. People have tried to make the half step interval work forever but you did it a great service here. It progressed in volume and texture changes, and also just the sounds you used were intense as well. Props for getting that done so quickly as well. My only criticism would be the buildup section; not that it takes too long but some of the energy is sucked out in favor of a more classical style progression. Which isn't bad, it was just a bit jarring to me the first time listening through. Really good work.
The funk... I don't understand. The saxophone line is either so out of tune from what you'd written or written very poorly to match the track underneath it. It's also just mixed poorly as well. The funk track itself is rather nice, but the saxophone line AND the strings underneath it was really unnecessary. The funk would have benefitted from it being its own thing that you could have developed.
It's nice. If you're in a classical style, some of the parallel octaves in the voices could have been changed in favor of something that covers what the organ wasn't (either melodically, or rhythmically), but you seem to have a pretty good grasp of what you're going after!
Can I be honest? I don't really like it that much. Melody transfer has a huge place in compositions that try to do this kind of thing, but I didn't hear it turn out all that well. Near the end there's a lot of crossed voices and clashing tones and the beginning feels empty and, to me, confusing rather than engaging.
That's only my opinion, and who am I to tell you that you shouldn't be proud of your work? Keep at it!
