mir vam zapustim

This is my choral composition from 2009. The text is a Slovenian translation of biblical text "Peace unto you".
The chorus starts in uneasy atmosphere but soon the male voices, singing like a group of monks introduce Jesus. He calms down the people and shows a considerable relieve with his finish "in ne plaši".

This is recording from the world premiere performance. I am one of the tenors, by the way :)

This reminds me of Hungarian psalms, like Kodaly's and someone elses, whose name I unfortunately forgot. But when I heard it, on a choir trip in Hungary, made a profound impression
I have uploaded a score now.
This is a fine performance of the piece. I too heard Kodaly in some places (25-29) but also a lot of the tone clusters used by Whitacre and the modern American choral composers. Be careful about over-using these, as apart from sounding too much like him they can obscure the harmony and voice-leading. Obviously the recording proves that there are no technical difficulties for the choir to sing this. I just have some small points which I think would improve the piece.

I feel the chord change from 30-31 comes too soon. If you repeated the words 'in ne plaši' before this with a harmony that still had a little tension in it these bars would be more effective, and give better proportions to this section of the music.

I think bars 44-45 should still be forte, which your choir actually do on the recording. Otherwise the climax of the piece seems too short, and it sounds for a few bars (47-49) as if the harmony is still moving towards another bigger climax later on in the piece.

The last chord - I think there are too many pitches in this tone cluster, especially as you write very normal tonal chords in the bar before. I wasn't convinced by the last 30 seconds until I listened another few times.
Siwi, your views of this composition are different than mine, but anyway, thanks for review!
I somehow imagine the final dissonant chord as a mysterious one, as Jezus remains a mystery to us in present days.
