I don't really know where exactly this instrumental cast would fit, but I am going to place it here.
This is the piece for violin and tamburitza orchestra, based on a popular Czech cartoon "Pat and Mat".
The violinist is Samo Vidic, who was nine years old when the perfomance on this video occured.
I am the middle double bass player, by the way. :)

First time I make visual or ear contact with a 'tamburitza' - must be a characteristic instrument of your country.

The piece itself is very playful and entertaining, and the violinist did a very nice job as well. I'm amazed at your versatility as a composer, as much as your ability to having your works performed. Congrats...!
Well, the conductor is my sister-in-law so it's not too hard to receive the perfomance :P

I am avoiding any specialising, although I prefer writing for solo instruments with orchestra.

Tamburitza is a national instrument of Slovenia and Croatia, but with different tuning in each country. In Slovenia we use a E intonation (like guitar) and Croatia uses an C# intonation which is pretty unusual.
heh Petr Skoumal wrote fantastic music for czech animated films...
