YC Awards Theme

* * * * * 6 Votes

Well, I made this theme for the YC Awards last year, I made it like almost mocking of the winners Posted Image
.....now is time to eat my own soup Posted Image

2 Erhu Solos, Pipa, Steel Drum & Tuba,
Large Orchestra with Pipe Organ
(all in FL)

I thought you were about to parody your own (Award winning) work... However, you managed to extract a big laugh from me...!
Nooo you mean the Lament ? that thing is so full of sorrow.

No I made this last year, maybe for future awards I can do a better render, introduction (that suppose to be preparation for something superb) can sound much better, just I made this kinda fast. Then the actual theme could be played with different instruments than Erhus, just that VST sounds so funny, has a slightly super fast vibrato...:P

anyway last year we couldn't determinate if was blues/rag or what...

Thanks for commenting
I meant a sort of a 'parodic medley' with the nominated (or just the winning) themes (you actually had three, not just the Lament)... But anyway, this one was very funny to listen - esp. the grandiloquent introduction giving way to... this light-hearted section. Well done!
Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love. Love.
Great. I really like the way it so suddenly changes, how you use all the sound effects to transform it in a really clever way. Although personally I wouldn't write this kind of music - I am more modern classical style - It's a great laugh, and the melody is catchy too. Maybe you could make it a bit longer with a new phase of something different, as it is quite short. The only criticism I have, is that it's almost like you had that melody, and you didn't find anything else to go with it, so you just ended it early - 'that'll do' kind of thing, meaning if I ever bought it, I would listen to it once, say 'thats a nice piece' and then it would sit in my cd case untouched for evermore. I think what it really needs is a fresh and different phase, that - although different - relates to the previous.

That is my opinion, and I hope this helps.
Well I think I made this kinda fast, I didn't expend much brain on this, year develop would enhance the whole thing, probably for the next awards I make a longer version.

Thanks I'm gonna remember that. :)
np, thanks for the reply
:') Sounds like i've just lost a game on mario carts.
well, suppose to be for winners not for losers but still funny haha,

Thanks for the comment.
funny and intense at the same time. :)
That's the first time I've ever laughed while listening to instrumental music!
The best part is that even the non-serious music is really good and catchy, and this is accentuated by the intensity of the rest.
Thanks, you've made my day!
:D Thanks for your comment.

Sounds like video game music. You're battling the final boss...Both you and him are on your last hit point...you're raising your sword/gun/halberd for the final strike, when out of the blue...a bird flies by and poops on your head, you lose your last hit point, and you die. The end. It's game over man, game over. You hear a bird chirping outside, so you open your window and throw a rock at it. Distraught, you sit depressedly on the bed, when the bird flies in and starts cartridge tilting your N64. The game glitches up, and the words game over transform into a mangled mess. Just before the game becomes completely unrecognizable, you see one last picture of the boss, cackling at you like a maniac.

This is hilarious. I listened to it three times in a row and I'm still laughing.
