This is my composition for chamber orchestra which shows my occasional simplified musical language but gives performers and listeners a lot of joy!

Nothing else to say, I just invite you to listen!

Really great stuff. Your approach to the ad libitum sections is very interesting and effective.
A very nice work, which I enjoyed a lot. The scoring, yet again, is very instructive.

I couldn't avoid thinking about the first two sections as a very appropiate soundtrack for a Spielberg movie about a gang of mischievous kids in search of a lost treasure. :D The last section was a bit more straightforward, almost dance-like.

Excellent achievement, congrats...
Wonderful piece! Reminds me a lot of Samuel Barber... Think I might go on a Barber-binge now...
Another great work !

could you say something about your harmonic techniques ? i like very much this feeling ;)
Alessandro, do you have a specific section in mind?
Most of my harmonies are created from artificial modes of limited transpositions - borrowed from Olivier Messiaen but used, I believe in my own way.
no, i like all :)

just another question, if you want:

when you have choosen those artificial modes, then is important "the right note in the right place", or its the same if you write one note or another ...

hope my question is clear ;)

thx&bye
Definitelly "the right note in the right place". :)
I think and listen for several minutes before giving a "full blessing" to my chords or their combinations. :)
Full of live and joy. Your musical language is very convincing, reminds me a bit of Bartók and sometimes even of Ligeti's micropolyphony. I enjoyed this a lot.
Hi Sojar.
This is the work i like the most of what ive seen you posted here.( and i like them all:-) ) Spesially the first movement. Really an expressive piece. I can hear your "messiaen" approach, though I hear more Stravinsky in the starting rythms and the treatment of woodwind. The strings at 05.20 and on is almost a messian rip of.. ;-) Just like I do myself i guess :-( Messiaen is a dangerous man to be inspired of i think, you can immediately tell its him, he sounds like nobody else. I guess its the moods of limited transpotion. But I love it and i will myself continue whit it!
The second movement is in my opinion a little to straight... ...Difficult to give feedback to something that is finnished an published, but i guess you post it here becase you too need feedback and opinions.
This was just my personal humble opinion
You are a really talented man and Im sure you are a great recourse to this forum
Great work and just my bag of tea.

Funny, i wouldn't agree. The chord progression, although using minor and half diminished sevenths is not modal in Messiaen's sense. ;) I do sometimes use symetrical modes, but I think I use them more freely than Messiaen would. ;)
Otherwise, thanks for review, Ekki! ;)
