Woodworks
A short peice composed for 2 violins, 2 violas, cello and double bass. I wrote it for almost no reason at all, other than to vent some creative fustration, haha. Recording is from Sibelius 7, though I'd really like to hear this performed on actual instruments one day...

@Heckelphone: Thanks for your feedback:) I actually took care to make sure that this is actually playable on strings (I often have a tendency to overuse double stops, being a piano player myself, and I lose track sometimes). You're right about the pizz/arco markings, that first bass note is indeed supposed to be pizz; I should really be more thorough with checking these things through.
No problem.
This is indeed a cool piece. I like how you double some of the pizzicato cello notes with the CB. It really adds to nice jazzy rhythmical texture. I am not sure whether to agree with Graham on the length of the recap. I think as it is, it works very fine too. I did not think the repeat was too literal. The ostinate rhythm could be slightly varied upon though. Maybe that will solve Heckles little problem?

Wow! This is a really awesome piece you have here. I love your use of all the intstruments. Everyone gets the melody at some point and gets an interesting part. I think you could shorten it a little, especially near the end. A little less here will be better. Overall though, this is a really awesome piece. The double stops are all playable, being a string player, and it's all quite easy to play, with a bit of practice. One note though, be careful where you put your pizz and arco markings. I somehow doubt you want that first bass note to be pizz, or a couple other spots where you get arco then pizz, or the other way around.
But very good! thanks for posting!
