Orchestral Variations

Indeed: although the theme is dodecaphonic, the music is free tonal in nature. It is a bit of a hybrid in stlye: for example - variation no. IV is very much Messiaen-like while others are not. But I find it interesting to have early variations for different groups only.

For my taste, there is too much slow music until the final one where action finally bursts. I think there are two more missing - one more quiet and one even faster one for finish, both for complete orchestra. The ending does not convince me enough. It might be midi to blame, I don't know.

It seems to me you are another one of the few professionals here, since you have the orchestra very much under control. Good job!

I agree, there is something incomplete and inconsistent in this work, but there are also some nice ideas.
