Dance for Violin and Piano
Hi you all!
This is a brandnew composition. A couple of weeks ago I wrote some African rythms on paper. This piece is inspired on those rythms.
I have plans to expanded this piece with totaly different thematic material. So, see this as a beginning. There will folow also other dances for violin and piano.
Feel free to comment!

hey man - cool stuff! i like the feel of the piece, and in light of your comment of it being a "beginning", it's good. it's a bit repetitious right now, but as you side, it's a start. i take slight issue with the feel of the main chord sequence of the piece - it doesn't feel natural to me. probably some close inspection and changing of notes will patch that up, as it's not conspicuously strange. but hey, it's good and fun right now - with more material, maybe some sections of contrasting dynamics and rhythms, you could have something quite fun on your hands. looking forward to seeing the development!
Hi!
This is a good piece... but it is just too repetitive, so it had a hard time maintaining my interest. I like it, and it's got cool rhythms, but the B section needs to come sooner and last longer.
So, with work this would be a great piece!
Good luck

The idea is cool, a tad poppy, but ok
But as is said the repetition is really diminishing the interest you can maintain. The harmonic progression is nice.
There are cadences that do not sound right in this context. The ending for example is a V-I cadence that feels too old-fashioned after the nice opening motive. I would like to see for example that you explore those harmonies a bit more slowly in the end.

That is a fun rhythm! I was waiting for it to come back during mm. 37-45. Its repetitious nature is only evident when the chord structure remains the same for too long. A little more harmonic variation and correlation between the violin and piano parts (I feel like the violin met the piano performing and started to improvise along with) could make this piece shine! Keep trying out new rhythms and take them as far as you can! Mix and match, cut and paste, syncopate further! Good luck!
This is a great start at as they all said. I agree with the repetitive sentiment. I think you have great rhythms and nice harmonies. I like the tango like feel you get. However, I heard the very last few seconds and thought you had something good coming and it was the finish. If you took that last idea and really branched out your melody and dispersed the melody between the violin and the piano then I really think you would have something groovy going. The piano is cool to begin with but it gets pretty repetitive pretty quickly. You need a more stark contrast section anyways. You need one that really changes up the rhythm. I think that is what I like about those last measures. Your current B section is too similar rhythmically. It is very cool. Work on mixing it up a bit. I'd like to see this one in a month or so and see what you have done with it.
