a very short rock opening idea

hi this is very short rock idea for a opening of rock piece.
lol it's kinda hard to imagine what this would sound like without the midi sounds. Even though, to me it felt a bit disjointed. But it could be the midi, i am not sure. 
this was just a idea:) It might work if i just write long list of variations for this - starting with solo, and then start gradually adding more dynamics to it.also less short notes would be better
I don't rate it as a traditional rock piece, but I loved the intricate melody. Will sound really great on a flute, or fife, but the fife I think might not be rangy enough.
But it feels like happy folk music.
