A Musical Comedy
"I tried to compose something funny at no avail." P.S.:If you play this on the acoustic piano instead of the electronic keyboard, use what i call "Reverb Pedalling", in which you press the sustain pedal about 50% & keep it there from beginning to end of the piece.
Half pedaling already has a name: half pedaling.
I'm not so sure I see the comedy, but that's up to you.
I don't know if you're a pianist or not, but some/most of those chords in the right hand beginning at bar 8 could not be played without rolling or doing the bottom note as a grace note.

I didn't know it was called half-pedaling, i thought it a new invention of mine since i never encountered it in any lesson book Phil. TJS_1877, I tried to make it a comedy but this is what came out ironically. I do play the piano & with my hands i can reach a tenth on the bleeding edge, i believe these chords if i had large hands, i could play them, nonetheless, a simple inversion keeping the most cruxial notes say perhaps the highest ones should do the trick. These chords should not be brokened or graced because it will pollute the original motif.
This music can still be somewhat "comedic" if you take it as the soundtrack for a Chaplin-esque malfunctioning factory production line (the irregular piano chords give a sensation of "hammering"). Or you might enhance the playfulness of the piece by using jumpy, fast-paced notes in a very regular fashion with the ocassional unexpected dissonance "mocking" the motifs (also an extended technique, such as hitting the low keys with the fist, could be usable here).
Austenite, you certainly provided here some suggestions which i would not have thought on my own ever. Hammering? mocking? Very observative in my opinion on you part. Thank you, i now see the piece with substantial worth to be turned into a truly comedic score as background music as you pointed out regarding a hypothetical Chaplin.
