Ode to the Greatest
This piece was composed and dedicated to Dr. Anthony P. Mazzaferro, Director of bands at Fullerton College in Fullerton, CA. It was composed to celebrate the director's birthday and was played four days prior on the last rehearsal before the college's spring break. The Fullerton College Symphonic Winds plays on this recording with Frank conducting the band. "It was the best gift card" that the director had gotten.
I got contacted by my Horn teacher (I was at Denny's at 10:00 PM already composing for a choir) on Monday to compose this piece. I rehearsed the band three times and we played this pieces for the director on Thursday. Not bad for short notice, right? Tell me what you think....
