Air in D major
This my entry for the April regular competition. The theme was meditation, and I tried to keep it simple in order to create that feeling. You might notice some Irish influence in this music because I love Irish music and just find it so relaxing. Try to think of rolling hills.
It's scored for flute, harp, violin, viola, and cello. Please tell me what you think.

Thank you for the comment. Although, I actually only intended one or two per part on the strings so as not to drown out the flute. All the parts can be played on double stops with the viola and cello.Being a fellow competitor, I can't really tell you very much about your piece, lest my opinions influence that of the judge(s)
...The "Irish" influence was most noticeable by the presence and usage of the harp - which is a perennially present instrument whenever Gaelic or Irish music is to be suggested - along with the flute. Yet I felt that these two could have been blended in a different way (although it might be the rendering at fault, since instead of solo strings it features section strings, which tend to drown a single flute).Good luck!
