And i'm curious as to why you ended the piece with more of a dissonant feel, and ended with an E flat and the bass on an F rather than the resolution on the A flat?
Anywho, brilliant, enjoyed it immensely.
This is really good man, really gets me, could be part of a top notch film score or in halo or something :DHonestly very, very good!(p.s. which vst's did you use? cheers
)
Thanks! And about the VST part, I say this to anyone who asks: be more specific!
I really enjoyed it, especially the flow you have going starting at about 0:34....brilliant. Is that a soprano I hear in the background starting at 0:58? Sounds like voice, but I can't quite tell. There's plenty of female choir in this piece! Did you only hear it at 0:58? The ending chord is a minor one because I wanted a more "sad" feel for this piece. It is about stuff like death and sacrifice after all!
Yeah I suppose it fits your portrayal. Just checking your view. Well it's great, and I love that meaning behind it. One more excellent piece from you. Keep it up!
Well done!
Keep it upp <3
xx
well done, honestly.
I wondered which sample package (however you call it) the strings and choir are from. Thanks
My assumption is that this is meant as a film or game cue, which is totally fine. It's just that as a cue, it ends up being incredibly short. It'd be nice to see some more development. Maybe give it some more contrast in the middle, and then bring the theme back in at the end for a climax.
I think the piece would be a lot more effective that way, because now it sounds like one short smooth arc. This is fine for a film cue where the audience only really picks up on the major themes, but if you want a score that's more of a main theme of something or someone, then it might be more effective if you were to change that "arc" as i said before.
I'm thinkin' John Barry's Theme for Out of Africa (of which I'm hearing serious echoes in this piece harmonically). Also take a look at October by Eric Whitacre. It's a lot different from this stylistically, but he does a great job of setting up a theme and reusing it to good effect to create a really nice climax at the end. Also John Williams's Leaving Hogwarts does sort of the same thing. Give those a look to see what I mean
Great job!!!

Anyway, just a quick note: this really is brilliance.
But what VSTs are you using?

I loved each part of it.....
Not much else to say other than simply superb.
this piece deserves a real recording ^^
It reminds me of so many film scores, mainly "Conan The Barbarian" by Basil Poledouris (the old one) and "Anakins Betrayal by John Williams". Hope to hear more!
For me it reminds me about My Name is Robert Neville by James Newton Howard from I am the legend.
2:10-2:14 was gorgeous!
Interesting ending. Leaves me wondering if I heard that chord during the piece.
Also love the French horn joining the melody line at 2:05, and the choir joining at 2:10. Makes me cry. So good! I also loved the dissonant minor ending. It just leaves me hanging enough that I feel incomplete, as if something or someone is permanently missing from my life. I imagine that's EXACTLY what you're going for. :-)
Great work.
That was what I was envisioning with this piece.
very nice.
Wonder what you think to my pieces.
Joe
I like the build up and the interchange of the melody from section to section. And the choir....wow!!! There is something about the choir in this kind of piece that really works some magic.
A great score! Thanks for sharing. I'm listening to it now on the radio...
