Well this is my second piece where I attempt to record myself on acoustic instruments and do the rest with synths and libraries, the background satisfies my much, but the the recording of the acoustic instrument, in this case the Soprano Sax, anyway I'm saving the background track of these pieces in HQ because I plan to re-record the leading instrument.

What I'm doing in this is a mix of orchestra + synthesizers, in this track was only strings and timpani because is not easy to handle a full orchestra and synthetic resources like pads and beats.

For the recording:

SONiVOX Sonic Implants Symphonic Strings Collection
Westgate Studios Modular Series Timpani
Garritan Personal Orchestra v.1 Harpsichord (K4)
VSL Opus 1 Percussions
EDIROL Orchestral for additional percussions
FL Studio (BooBass, Morphine (pad)

Sequenced and recorded in FL Studio 9.

Soprano Saxophone (Straight) Selmer LaVoix, Generic Mouthpiece with big chamber. The Tone I get with this mouthpiece is very close to an oboe, but the microphone turned it into an exotic heckelphone, mostly in the low notes.

I hope you like it.

EDIT:
oh I forgot.....

Special Thanks to Jem, for his advises on mixing this track ;)

Okay, I'll be honest on this one. It sounds like one of those demo pieces that you can play on keyboards, which in itself is really kind of awesome. I really like the saxophone as a solo instrument in this piece, and it works well against the string orchestra parts that you have overtaking the saxophone. I like the use of the harpsichord for the this piece also. Did you play the sax solo yourself? It sounds like it's being played by you, and what I actually like is that it's sort of out of tune with the rest of the orchestra a parts. The drum beat gets kind of repetitive, but that's a minor issue.

It's a very fun piece. I could actually see it being played in an anime, as a theme or at the end, not sure which. I enjoyed it and actually listened to it twice. Fun and catchy.
you mean those red "DEMO" buttons in Casio keyboards ? hahahaha, yeah those sound always too good to be truth eh ?... was funny to see people to buy one of those in a departmental store and ask the employer, "ey, we wanna hear this one", the employer press the demo button and wow, ok, "we take this", then at home the try to play something with "00 Piano 1" and ... sound horrible hahaha,.... those were the great 90's, nobody had usb-midi interfaces and computers were doing almost nothing, so nobody was able to make those keyboard to play like that demo.

yes, I play the sax there, first time I record the soprano, and I think I'm not very professional recording along with these 100% precise machines, I think I was listening too much to the background and didn't hear the sax enough. The Sax is a bit detuned, but it was worse :D I fixed several notes with Adobe Audition.... once I was watching a video about sopranos saxes, and the guy said (answering a question i guess) "No, sopranos have no intonation problems, sopranos are NOT tuned (haha) one has to find the pitch while playing" meaning, not because you open the right key means will be in tune, since soprano responses too much to the embouchure pressure.

The drums, yeah I need more loops.

Thanks for listening and commenting.
YAY! That was SO GOOD. I loved the repetitive nature of this piece. It works for this setting. Your off-key recording is beautiful. :) I have no criticism. It was just lovely. Thanks for sharing.

Ah thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it :)
No problem!
Wow. That...that was devastating. And I mean that in a "That was mind-blowing" way. That was soo cool, and very pretty sounding with the Soprano Sax solo in it as well
Oh Thank you, well, the person who I composed this for, is a woman that happens to be "devastating" too... in the meaning you said, and also in the other, because said No to me.

Also I see now that soprano timbre as a crying saxophone which I find totally suitable for all this.

Thank you for listening and commenting.
