A multi-meter (4/4, 3/4, 7/8, 6/8, 2/2 ) quick, fun-sounding piece for concert band. Composed in 2010.
The introduction sets the mood for a happy melody in saxes and clarinets. The melody moves to brass and then back to woodwinds in smooth transitions.
A steady beat is then passed back in forth between woodwinds and low brass to accompany a sweeping melodic line in the high brass. The melody quiets down into a slower woodwind and chimes line. The main theme is quickly heard and the music dies down.
A solo clarinet and solo flute have a quick conversation to an alto sax solo. A drum roll crescendos into the introduction to the 2nd section. The 2 main themes overlap and build to the final chord.
