We know that the string we are playing on is the A string.  if we were to play that string without holding 
down a fret we would be playing an A.  Use that knowledge to name the notes:

Also this is going to work out your playing too:

Play these notes using all your fingers (pinky too!) and practice moving up and down the string.  If you can buy or 
find a metronome online set it to 60-100 bmp and play on the beat.  Focus on clear timely playing rather than speed.  
As you master one level move on to the next level.  However never replace speed with clean playing.  Focus on getting
a crisp evenly space sound.  Each note gets one beat, except the last one, which gets 4.  

Once you have completed this feel free to extend the idea of naming the notes for the other strings.  Although it
might be a bit to much to remember.  You'll learn them eventually.  Just make sure to memorize these first.
