while there is a plethora of student films in the drama, action and comedy section I never came across anyhting close to fantasy. Consequently, up-and-coming film composers looking for first experiences in different genres don't have the opportunity to practise their skills on a fantasy production, which really is a shame considering the multifarious musical options that particular genre offers. However, just recently in my parent's attic I stumbled over an old camcorder which my brother and his mates used many many years ago (around 2005) to shoot their own little fantasy flic called "The Dagger Deliverance", set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting, famous for entries such as Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights or the D&D pen-and-paper roleplaying game. Though it's obviously an extremely LOW budget fan film production, which in its entirety never was finished, they put a lot of hard work into it and some scenes just have a wonderful amateurish and naive charme to it. ;) Unfortunetly, all of the finished and survived sections of the film use temp-track music (mostly from well-known feature films of that genre), thus it is impossible to re-score it without also having to re-dub all the sound and dialogue tracks. Seeing no other way, I ported the original raw material from the analogue camcorder, re-edited together three suceeding scenes, applied some sound and visual effects and voilà: here you have your fresh amateur fantasy film template for film scoring exercise! :D Since I had to use the sound originally recorded on set, the few dialogue passages are in German.

The unique twang and rhythmic charm of this instrument have me hooked. Learning the ropes, or should I say, the strings, and it's both challenging and incredibly rewarding. The thing is that somehow when I read it I can imagine melodic contours and dynamics in my mind. I feel/hear something abstract inside my head.

The thing is. If this has no sound/notes but it can suggest musical sonic ideas. Is it music? And if not, what is it exactly? 

@Henry Ng Tsz Kiu made me wonder if this could be considered a collaborative composition, because the person who reads the score is the one who fills in the gaps according to their imagination and counterpoint knowledge.

To be honest when I was crafting it I had a mindset that I was creating a joke, a prank. But as I was finishing it I realized this interesting cognitive detail and I had to share it with everyone.

I’m looking for composers to contribute graphic scores for a score exchange project. 

Participants will upload graphic scores and there will be an open invitation for musicians to respond with an audio recording of their own personal interpretation of the score. Submissions should be for open instrumentation only (for any number of instruments), and not for specific instrumentation. You are encouraged to consider shape, colour, size, placement, words etc. Responses may be wide ranging - from digital art, to abstract painting, and video score/animation. 

Graphic notation can give a voice to musicians who find traditional notation limiting yet have the desire to express themselves through composition. Submission is open to anyone who is interested, not just professional composers.

This online space will present opportunities for musicians and amateurs to interact and collaborate virtually. A driving motive behind the project is to bring people together in the time of social isolation.

I have no skill or knowledge in music, so I am looking for someone to help properly bring to life the piano music which I recorded on my phone and uploaded to YouTube:

I would like for it to be a collaboration, in which either I am the Composer but the collaborating person is the Artist, or we are both Composers and there is a 3rd person who is the Artist, etc. I am not sure how it would work, but I want to give credit to the person. I would like to publish the music on iTunes and put it on Youtube as well.

I have very little money, so most of the compensation for the work in cleaning up the music and arranging the parts and then executing the playing and recording must come from the future sales of the music on iTunes (which will be split 50-50), plus a $100 pay/honorarium upon completing the project.

I currently need to write a piece for my high school's concert band. However, my problem is that I've only ever written for string orchestra and never concert band. Because of this, I am looking for a composer to collaborate with for my band.

Criteria/Guidelines:

• The piece needs to be done by the end of this Sunday.

Collaborative efforts are needed in finding a manufacturer.  The story begins from the cover to the first page.  I may also use a spotter for psychological effect.

Also completed, Linear Displacement Theorum.  The theorum may be heard in Symphony No. 3, "Jupiter's Bliss."

I'm working to have my equation in CSound for "real-time" performance.

The equation goes:

The rational has been botched by the, US Patent Office, English above, (any mannerism experts are welcome) and may add to the thesis of the arsis; the rational in, Spanish, is perfect.

Myself and Markus have been collaborating on a project centered on galant pedagogy. Here our first realizations on a Partimento by Francesco Durante (1684-1755). Partimenti are figured and unfigured basses used during Baroque and Classical period by the students who learn compositions to do realizations on based on a set of rules.

Myself and Guillem have been collaborating on a project centered on galant pedagogy. We came up with a simple structure that follows well known schema (illustrated below) for a theme in the form of a minuet, followed by a number of variations to demonstrate ways in which schema can be manipulated. We agreed to write for two parts only for simplicity's sake, and to better clarify the schema involved.

Theme and instrumentation

The theme attached is for piano, but anyone can rearrange it into a string quartet, a piano trio or any ensemble up to 8 instruments.

You can make slight modifications to the actual theme if you want to, even if you are doing for piano only. (includes adding new voices, dynamics, transposing into another key etc)

Other rules

You are allowed to compose as many variations on the theme as you want. If you are composing three or more, try to have a fugue/fuga included.

If you are rearranging it or making modifications to the initial theme, please include the modified/rearranged theme as well.

You are allowed to compose in any style, but preferably not jazz or pop.

Also remember to add tempo markings, dynamics and other directions if necessary. The theme attached does not have much of these so you can interpret it differently in any way you want it to.

After you have completed your variation(s), post it/them into this topic. There must be a

• PDF file of the score and;
• Midi file and;
• MP3 file.

I will like to see how different composers can develop the same material in different ways. I believe no two variations from different composers can be exactly the same.

Recently I saw an article in the YC Wiki about a set of 24 Preludes and Fugues written by different members of YC. 

Later, I released they were from about a decade ago, and I think we should write a new set.

I am working on a program music for 2020 and I am looking for arrangers & orchestrators, while also considering potential co-composers.

The music being mostly vocal and choral, I am mainly looking for people with experience in choir harmonization.

The topics covered in the program:
The seeking of light
The confusion and well-being that such a quest can generate
The diverse spiritual and mystical experiences that are experienced
The benefits of these type of experiences: liberation, joy, lovingness, kindness, purity, perspective etc

In spite of the music not being sacred (that is, based on religious texts), the majority of the pieces nevertheless possess a mystical & spiritual tone that is commonmark of this genre of music. One can speak of Secular Spiritual Music.

I am therefor prioritarely looking for people who are sensitive to sacred/spiritual music, as well as to this type of project, for a more harmonious long-term collaboration

Influences: Sacred and choral music by John Tavener, Preisner, as well as Pergolesi, Mozart, Vivaldi, Haendel and Bach
