  1. Check out Mars, by Gustav Holst. A great orchestral piece dominated with brass leads. Score located here: https://imslp.org/wiki/Special:ImagefromIndex/05396/hfne

  2. I don't know of anything off the top of my head that has a brass solo other than concertos for brass instruments, but I would imagine in a brass solo that either the horns or the trumpets or both would be taking the lead most of the time and that the rest of the time, it would be trombones taking the lead, and the tuba is left to give bass line accompaniment.

  3. Thanks a LOT, Tónskáld for your reply, and please don´t be sorry! Maybe I overreacted a bit. This was proably caused by cropped up feelings after hearing about "the own voice" issue over and over again. Your view on this seems to be very similar to what I think of this. As I said before, there is no need to continue this discussion any further. Thanks again!

  4. I enjoyed this very much! I don't think it was too repetitive. The refrain sounds beautiful. I like how the end doesn't feel like the end but makes me go back to the beginning. I would love to learn to play this! Thank you for sharing!

  5. I think your harmonic language here is lovely. You have great ideas! As for repetitiveness: you do include a repeat, but only for a 12-bar theme, so that’s not particularly egregious or anything. I would at least vary the theme from ms. 33 on, when you return to your original theme, if I were you. Whether you want to do this in a simple or complex way is up to you. There are potential benefits and downsides to either choice. I think this is a lovely little piece. Thanks for posting! ☺️
