Nice piece. I think it would be better using pedal, and making a change in the texture in some part (the whole piece relies on the arpeggio and three voices up above).

I think that maybe it is too short. Did you perhaps fall to that affliction that sometimes grabs me and makes me want to finish off a piece so that I can at least be satisfied that I have brought a musical idea to a completion? I think the ideas in this work could be greatly extended and developed into something even more impressive than its current state. You could even put together a multi-movement piece if you felt so inclined, you seem to have the composing chops to do this. I encourage you and everyone to always try and extend yourself as much as possible. Of course maybe you do that all the time so I suppose what I am really saying here is that I would be interested to hear more from you.

to be a bit personal...i have recently rekindled a past relationship and it is going very well, i am talking a forever well and that is great and all but that too shall pass and will not really last "forever" ((or heck, maybe it will)) and upon hearing your piece it kind of reminded me of certain journeys that we can take through life, filled with happiness but also tinged with,if not regret, then at least some sadness. Did the rather abrupt end cause me to consider my own situation with some consternation? Nope, I realize that this is "only" music, not real life neither yours or mine so no such external considerations can effect my enjoyment and enrichment upon hearing it. How did you find these notes and what process did you follow in organizing them into the music?

Beautiful music filled with longing/regret. The changes in tempo and meter give this piece continued interest. Although it could use a contrasting section in a different key or a modulating sequence or something. You always have really great animated graphics in your YouTube videos .. how do you get them? The graphics seem like they're almost more work than the music itself. Nice job overall!

Hey @maestrowick thanks so much for listening and commenting and for your nice words! What's wrong with measure 7? And, THANK YOU, I changed to ensamble to the more traditional one (I had to switch second and third voice because the oboe couldn't play some of the notes in the second voice) and it sounds much better. I might try to expand it - thanks for the encouragement - although I don't feel superconfident about writing a full-fledged fugue 🙂
