  1. One of the most ambitious pieces I've composed. Full of humor and emotion. A one movement Sonata-Fantasie in B flat. I'm particularly proud of the double fugue in the development section. I hope you enjoy it! Played by concert pianist and friend Usman Anees. Check out his you YouTube channel where you can find all his videos, including his recordings of all 32 Beethoven Sonatas... from memory!

Symphony in C Mov. III - Allegro molto

I'm really glad you enjoyed the piece. Your encouragement means a lot to me. Thank you! :)
  3. Here's the third movement scherzo of my symphony in C. I'm composing the work in the spirit of Beethoven. He never wrote a scherzo in a minor key for a major key symphony so I thought that would be an interesting direction to go in. This is a piano recording of it, I'll orchestrate it after it's done. I hope you enjoy it, one more movement to go!
  4. Here's the second movement of my symphony in C played on the piano. I'm modeling this work after Beethoven for both enjoyment and study. I hope it brings you joy even though there is a touch of sadness too. Thanks for listening.
  5. Occasionally for my own study and enjoyment I'll compose music modeled after and in the spirit of other composers who I admire. This piece is a symphony movement I modeled after Beethoven. It amazes me how emulating another composer rubs some people the wrong way. If you have an issue with this I suggest you push the back button and save yourself 10 minutes of your life. No hard feelings. That being said, I composed this to practice both composition and orchestration in preparation for writing my own symphonies. It's a sonata form movement with a simple theme that's developed in Beethovenian fashion. Its currently in piano form, I haven't orchestrated it yet but I've been studying his first 4 symphonies intently. I admire Beethoven's mixture of humor and drama. I'd love to hear any feedback you might have or any tips you might have for orchestration. Thanks for listening!
  6. Sonataform

I think the piece comes off as effortless. You have some idiosyncrasies unique to you that can be unexpected, fun and even jarring when you compose in a "traditional" tonal space. But when you compose music in an atonal space all the elements feel balanced and natural. I don't know how to explain it but there's a certain grace to this piece that I've never heard in your other music.
  7. Beautiful work by Luciano Berio. Heard it for the first time at a live performance. Never knew of this music before then. There are eleven songs total. They are all very nice and worth listening too. Cheers!

    The Ancient Forest Mov.I

Nice piece. I too love the forest, especially the redwood forests of my native California. Music sounds fitting for a nature documentary featuring forests. Nice work.

    Megaman-esque Chiptune Song

Chiptune music always brings me back to my childhood days. This sounds great, like something straight out of megaman.
  10. I composed this piece because I love the Legend of Zelda. Also because I want to introduce classical music to a new generation by using music people are already familiar with and turning it into classical music. Was it successful? Let me know your thoughts. I hope you enjoy it, if so share with your friends!

    Fugue Competition

I regret to say I won't be able to participate. My January schedule just got busy with a couple of concerts. I'll be devoting my time to practice. Sorry!

    Sonata for piano, first movement

It's a very nice piece. Has a vibe similar to Schubert's hungarian melody. Thanks for sharing your work.
  13. Sonataform

    Fugue Competition

I get it now. I was unfamiliar with the words custos and ceiling. I'll serve as a judge but I'd like to take part and compose a fugue with the participants also. My entry will just be for the fun of it.
  14. Sonataform

    Fugue Competition

    I'm confused by this.

    Rondo in G Major

It's rather odd but not without some merit. The piece feels self aware of it's own awkwardness which makes it interesting but I didn't feel any investment in the piece or the direction it was going in. Overall, it's still pretty creative. Thanks for sharing.
