I've started to play the piano when I was 26 (that's already 12 years ago). I was mostly fascinated by the romantic period, including Chopin, Rachmaninov and others, so I thought: why not learn how to play some of their pieces. One evening on my way back home, I decided, to go to a music shop and buy myself a piano. I could not afford more than a Clavinova, which was fine due to the noise issues in a flat with a simple wooden floor board separation between us and our neighbours. I then started, with very little knowledge in score reading, to play Beethoven's Pathetic sonata. It took me more than 6 months... to play the first part (badly). 1 hour every night, the very same notes (fortunately for my wife, I practised with my earphones on).
Well, time went by, I continued practicing, and after 11 years of practice, I thought I should try composing. So I tried... but as I have very few people in my vicinity to share my work with, I felt a bit frustrated. So I signed up, willing to share my work with other composers, get some feedback, and try to provide feedback to others !
