  1. Many pieces that John has composed usually have a memorable melody in it. If you start humming my melody after you listened to it. Please comment below! And you can give me some suggestions too.
  2. Hi there, for a long time I wanted to write something like this: a flamboyant "final fight" track with broad, heroic themes swirling above driving ostinati. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=674265&songID=13676086 Originally this piece belongs to the score I wrote for a student film project realised many many years ago. The music was produced via a MIDI-based digital sequencer and of course orchestral sample libraries. Unfortunately, the London Symphony Orchestra was just too busy at the moment for a recording session. :P While the last bars in asymmetrical 7/8 meter surely feel a bit overloaded (with syncopated choir fills and such), I am quite happy with the overall arrangement and the final mix. But maybe I am a little bit biased since I listened to it too often and it's just chaos to your ears... 😉 If you have some hints on how to improve the mix, sound, orchestration etc. please feel free to let me know. Best regards, Dustin
  3. I am an amateur composer. This is the third piece that I have composed with Sibelius and Note Performer! I hope you will enjoy it and give me some feedback!
  4. I've had this melody lying around for a while. It reminded me so strongly of John J Powell's score for "How to train your dragon", so I went for a similiar style overall. Not quite sure about the Countermelody in the last 4 Bars, half of me likes the vibe, half of me hates it. Btw, don't mind the name of the mp3, it's an inside-joke in my Family ^^ Ohnezahn4Life .mp3 I've forgotten to post on here for a while, so if you wanna listen to more, check out my instagram (I upload all the scores on there, sry for the little ad :p ). https://www.instagram.com/music.by.leander/?hl=de
  5. I'm an amateur composer and this is my first piece with Sibelius & Noteperformer.I'll be very grateful if you can give me some feedback!
  6. Hello ! this is my new soundtrack i hope you like it !
  7. Hello everyone, in the last few weeks I worked on this track. The idea of the melody at the beginning I had a couble months ago. Inspired from the Davy Jones theme music (Pirates of the Caribbean). In this piece I wanted to tell two different things in a pirates life. The first part of my track is about the calm moments on their ship. The picture works perfect for this part. A wonderful night scene, moonlight, the sea.. This picture was also very inspiring for me.. Anyway, the second part is about the other side when the pirate is in action. On a fight or something like this. In my opinion the second part doesn't work so well musically. I had some trouble to make it sound big. What do you think about it? I look forward to any feedback! Regards and enjoy ;)
  8. So I made this in a state of depresso expresso but i think it came out better than expected. Also this is basically my second orchestral piece ive ever written, so constructive critique is very welcome :D Made this with MuseScore for sheet writing and then produced it in FLStudio with the EastWest ComposerCloud pack.
  9. An orchestral piece with an ethnic flavor, I was inspired by the piece "Flight of the Silverbird" by Two Steps from Hell. Here is the link to the Soundcloud page too: Please Enjoy!
  10. Hey folks, This is the finale for the Easter piece I am composing for my church. If the instrumentation seems strange, that's because it is. Those are the only instruments we have to work with at church so that's what it's written for. To get a better playback quality, I put it into MuseScore, the downside is that it doesn't observe the Rits. so just keep that in mind as you listen. Also, I haven't added the lyrics yet for the chorus, so sorry about that. You might already know the two hymns though. Enjoy!
  11. Hi everyone, I'm new here. Looks like a great group. I compose my music with FL Studio for a few years now. So I want to share a little selection of my (maybe best) tracks here. What do you think about my music? I look forward to any feedback! :)
  12. Hi Guys! This is my first post. I would love to hear your opinions on my take on: The Rains of Castamere, the most epic song from Game of Thrones.
  13. This is my latest cinematic orchestral piece "Gone". I would appreciate your feedback and suggestions. Click the YouTube link below: "Gone" by Karisa L. Clark
  14. Hi fellow composers! My name is Kian, a Shanghai, China based composer and visual media audio specialist. I'm a graduate of the world prestigious Berklee College of Music and have had more than 10 years of industry experience working on a range of projects including AAA+ games such as Eve Online, Dishonored, Spec Ops: The Line, Dust 514 and block buster Chinese films notably Wolf Warrior. You may find more information about me and my works through my website: www.kianhow.com After more than 10 years of being in the industry and having spent considerable time working in the East and West, I have accumulated much highly valuable experience which I believe will help composers navigate through their careers with much ease. And considering the rise of the economic powers of Asian countries in recent years, there will be more opportunities for composers to explore in this region and I will have highly valuable information that can help aspiring composers intending to exploit the growing markets of the east. I have written a series of articles with the specific purpose of assisting composers achieving their goals. If you find my articles to have provided any value to you, do share it to others as sharing is caring and if there's any questions or topics you'd like me to write about, do get in touch with me :) https://www.kianhow.com/single-post/2017/08/08/Truths-About-Being-a-ComposerThat-You-Should-Know-1-Understanding-the-realities-of-being-a-composer https://www.kianhow.com/single-post/2017/08/08/Truths-About-Being-a-ComposerThat-You-Should-Know-2-Understanding-the-function-of-a-“work-for-hire”-composer Thanks and I wish all of you the best of luck with your careers! -Kian Music Composer | Visual Media Audio Specialist www.kianhow.com
  15. Hello ^^ I'm a 17 years old young composer, and I recently made this remake of two Paper Mario's music. If you don't know Paper Mario, it's an excellent game on the Nintendo 64, I suggest you to listen to his OST. So as I said, I made my own orchestration of two musics, and I'd like to know what you think about it. Here's a link to my remake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUe5ka6raro I hope you'll like it :D
  16. Hey Guys, This is my new creations. I really interested in your opinion, please write in comment! Thanks!
  17. I made this song a long time ago but I decided to post it now (you know, I don't want to post my music nonstop and annoy). It was made even before I posted the first song here, so the suggests that I was told are not implemented here yet, but atleast I would like to see what you think about it, I hope that you like it
  18. Hi, I've discovered this forum a few days ago and I though that I could join it to share my work here, and the most important, have some real feedback from my songs (because you know, not everybody will give feedback as good as given by people who also make music) I'd like to note one thing before you listen to the song. Actually I don't have any sort of musical preparation, none than self taught, and so I don't know a lot about pentagrams and all those things, but other than that, I can understand most of the things related to the music itself Without further delay, here's the song, I hope you like it (oh and sorry if bad english, I'm spanish )
  19. This is the first movement to my first symphony, I don't know if there will be a second symphony. It is programmatic, visual and very cinematic. Sort of like a score without a film. I'm still working on the other movements and will release them as they come.
  20. Hey guys it has been ages since I have posted on here and I've missed this community a great deal! As always I am constantly writing and usually post material in the Video game music/film score section but with this post comes some fresh new material in which I have been heavily inspired by retro music but I wanted to put my own "spin" on it! I hope you guys dig and let me know what you think! Here is the link to the youtube channel if you guys are interested!
  21. Heyoh fellow composers! This composition confuses me. It started as an expression for some feelings you can hear in the beginning, but escalated into quite big orchestral with quite a variety of emotions. But I still find it to be reflective - I just don't know what it's about. Just that it hits me damn hard. I don't know what to name it, so I left the original name at least for now. Any thoughts, associations or points of view this strikes in you would be interesting to know! Also, criticism is most welcome ^^ Cheers!
  22. Hi all! This work was done as part of my "quick write" challenge for myself, to compose often and in shorter time intervals to help eliminate the previously long time periods between composing works. I woke up one morning to some deeeeep thunder rumbles and the power flickering, combine that with a half note riff I worked up in the band room before I taught at school that day and PRESTO!! Instant "epic electronic hodepodge of stuff". Let me know what you like and what I could do better--I'm not a mixer, these sounds are all done with the Sibelius sound library with minimal adjustments to anything........ Gustav Johnson
  23. I have created a new track. This one is more of an epic inspirational trailer track. Please check it out! (and give me feedback) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0un5ntCRO4g&feature=youtu.be Thanks, -William
