  1. Hey!! I finished this piece with the intention of making 2 other movements to compliment it, but I run into a problem on what the other movements should sound like. I'm debating on if I should mimic the styles of Britten's "Simple Symphony op.4" or if I should follow the concept of Bartok's String Quartet no.4 Let me know what best suits this quirky piece, enjoy!!
  2. Hey gang, So I would like to share an idea which I use quite frequently (as followers of my music on this forum would know). I find a great deal of satisfaction and musical growth in composing short, imaginative works which I call "sketches". These sketches can be of animals, people, places, things, emotions..anything really! For me, it takes stress away as I work because I know I don't have to worry about any rigid form or style. I am just composing a sketch. If my sketch turns into a decent idea, I can then expand it into a full length piece. The upside is, you can compose a set of several sketches and it becomes a functioning musical work very easily. So that's basically it. You probably have done something like this before, but I just wanted to get the idea going in case you haven't. Feel free to let me know what you think!
  3. Hi everyone! This is kind of a fun piece I composed in the style of the early Crash Bandicoot music. Both my sisters and I have been playing these games like crazy and the music was always something special. So this is also kind of a tribute to Josh Mancell, composer of the ps1 Crash games. Enjoy and please let me know what you think!
  4. Here's a quick challenge-- take a piece you've previously written, or maybe part of a piece you've never finished, that's in 4/4, 2/4, or similar time signature, and change it into a waltz. Make sure it has the same pulse and general feel as a waltz. This really helped me when I was stuck on one of my songs, since I got a new perspective of the piece.
