  1. Long time no see! I've recently been composing again and I'm very happy with this one. Structure resembles sonata form: Exposition: 0:00 A is polychords from F, C and G Lydian. 1:40 B is dobled melodies from polychords of G, Bb and Db Dorian. 2:52 C is textures from polychords of B, C and C# Locrian. Development: 1. 4:12 a few A tutti chords to close the exposition and open the development 2. 4:26 A+B juxtaposed 3. 4:58 A+C juxtaposed 4. 5:38 A+B+C tensely juxtaposed 5. 6:33 A+B+C integrated resolutely in a "collective agreement" mode based on E Lydian, ending in a little cello solo epilogue. Recapitulation: 8:14 order C-B-A Using Noteperfomer, warning: still loud but more balanced. Positive feedback revolves around the beauty of the harmony, orchestration and the interesting form. Criticisms I've received are that: It may be difficult to follow because the lack of literal repetition of an entire theme. A lacks a theme proper. The exposition and recapitulation of A and B lack contrapuntal interest. The harmonic rhythm is slow throughout. The lack of other movements I'm creating a version with a larger orchestra considering the criticisms, may even do a theme and variations second movement.
  2. Hello guys, long time no see. I have been quite busy and I struggled a lot with this composition, but it is finally over and I came here to share it with all you. ^^ I hope you don't mind me copying the video descrition, I'm to tired to do a custom descrition here. This piece took so long to compose, around 45 hours. The main reason for that was that I got a mental block with it and I couldn't tie two sections of the work. I'm thankful to Carlos Barbé for enlightening me and making realize a couple of key things that I needed to sort out in order to do some progress. This is the last composition I will do for my "Dream Fantasies" set. After some consideration I decided to let the performer decide in what order to play the 3 pieces. I wanted to offer some freedom and let different musicians decide how they understood the whole thing. The piece is filled with lots of references to Nostalgia and A Sleepy Apology, so it can work as a nexus or a summary. This piece in particular is quite abstract, but its main theme is time. What it really means... Unfortunately I couldn't get a better performance because I finished this piece yesterday (31/01/2022-08/04/2022) and the most technically challenging fragment was the last thing I did. So I had vitually no time to properly practice the thing and also the piano where I played is super unbalanced (sometimes you play a key and it doesn't make a sound and in other instances it sounds too loud). But I think at least I got the right mood I had in mind (even though I calculated the piece should have a duriation of around 5' 40", so I played the slow section way too slow, sorry about that haha). Hopefully I will be able to record in my own piano in the near future. Oh, and I played this while having some kind of injury in my feft hand index finger, so yeah haha. And my hand hurted a bit after the loud section with 4ths, I don't know what I'm doing wrong to get injuries so easily. Thank you to everyone who supported me and showed interest.   3. Greetings everybody here! The following is another piece of work in the same set as the previous work: Miroirs et Fleur et de Lune. This work is entitled as Jeux, trying to picture a game of light and dark, switching from dissonance to finally a pentatonic scale, a joy atmosphere at D major.   4. I was inspired by the sound and arrangement style of this album I found on YouTube called Sailing to the World. -- I may have ruined my presentation by linking to this comparison! I figured subdued dynamics and generous use of the sustain pedal were important to the sound I wanted. I also tried to add some moments of rhythmic fluidity. Do you think the ending is okay? I realize that the last chord may be a little sideways. I personally like it, but I also feel a little bit uncertain about it.

This impressionistic-romantic piece was for a challenge to make a one handed piano piece sound like two hands or more (challenge rules meant that I had to make a piece that was relatively short). I've been studying left hand technique for a while and have made sure that the entire piece is playable. This is my most experimental and musically subtle piano piece yet, so I'd love some criticism on this piece on what I can improve on.   8. The third installment (and middle movement) in the Icelandic Suite for Piano Solo. This movement is slow and poignant, often even lethargic. It relies heavily on quartal harmonies, diminished 5ths, and whole tone scales to convey a sense of listlessness and loss (my emotions, at least). The inspiration comes from deep mourning and melancholy, looking out on a rain-drenched day. I hope it finds resonance with your soul, too. Also, I'm not sure how I feel about the length of the piece. Bar for bar, it's shorter than the other two movements thus far, but the sluggish tempo makes it longer in duration. I tried to keep it interesting by modulating and varying the melodies/accompaniments, but I'm worried it may become too boring. I'd greatly appreciate your thoughts about this—and about the piece in general. Thanks, and happy listening!

This is a set of preludes I composed and recorded for the piano, and the set tells the narrative of a maritime journey, detailing the calm sea, the time spent on the ship, the lighthouse on land, the seabirds, and finally the port.   19. I decided to write something a few days ago, just for the sake of writing something. So, I sat down, and a couple hours later this is what resulted. It's a bit of an aimless piano piece, but it was fun to play around with the harmonies and chords. The score is a little untidy - I was more writing it for the sound of it, and to get sibeilus to play it correctly - but I might decide later to tidy it up into a more readable version.
  20. Hi I've been working on something simple but funny (for me). Inspired in the life of my cats, I'm doing a king of little suite for flute, clarinet and piano. The clarinet is not transposed in the score. Well, music for me is this, too... T I've written too pieces (working on more): Awakening: the moment when the all come back from the dreamworld. Purring: including the sound of Dexter.

Yes, there are some measures (74-75...) where the flute is quite dissonant. It's not a mistake, I wanted it.
