Here's a piece I did years ago, which I recently put onto Sibelius. Again it's Baroque/classical(ish) but with extreme orchestral minimalism. Its very rough and def needs tweeking, but whaddya think? Hope you enjoy Mike

So for the audio file I am attaching the YouTube video because I still can not get the MIDI to work right on Finale (it sounds like garbage when I try to save the MIDI file) so I am using the WAV file in the YouTube video (sounds way better). Unfortunately, the score is a little hard to see in the video so I recommend using the attached PDF for viewing and the video only for listening. Thanks for your comments!

Hello, Please let me know what you think about the piece linked below! A separate PDF is also attached, in case resolution isn't good enough for careful review. Thanks, J Shu

I think i'm finished with this one although unsure about the ending. I wanted to write something a bit faster than I normally would. I don't have the score as Logic is terrible for that. Enjoy and comments welcome as per. Any feedback really is welcome, good or bad.

I uncovered this piece from a while back. I'd started it with the intention of it being music for an advert but it grew (by accident, I got carried away) into something bigger. I'm still under the impression it's only really background music. Let me know what you think. This was the last version i put to MP3 so I'm going back through it now to 'clean it up'

Let me know what you see this piece fitting to, a movie scene, trailer, game, whatever it may be. On a side note, if you see yourself as a gifted mastering/mixer, please get in touch with me. I would love to pick your brain for some tips and pointers. Thank you in advance.

Hello everybody! I just finished my Piano Concerto No.1 ''Octaves'' in f minor. The Concerto consists of only one movement: Allegro con brio. The music is, of course, written for piano and string orchestra. The goal for me to write this piano concerto was to learn more about how to write for piano and how to write in a more classical, early romantic style. Note that I added some more contemporary elements as well. The concerto is in free Sonata Form: Exposition - Exposition repetition with piano (classical) || Development (many more modern elements) || Recapitulation without the second theme. I ommited the second theme in the recapitulation, because I felt like this theme was already 'mentioned' too frequently. Furtheremore, ending with the first theme sounds fine to me. What do you think about the music? Particularly the development? *The lay-out of the score still has to be done. Piano_Concerto_No.1_''Octaves''.mp3 Maarten

This is a piece written by my grandad, Paul Lawrence and orchestrated by his friend. https://youtu.be/iK1xhrvcmqw

Hi all, I had this idea for piano but wound up trying to orchestrate it over the past few days. I'm open to any suggestions and comments. Also, a question: saving MIDI out of Finale has been sounding terrible lately. The instruments all sound terrible and cheap. AND as you'll year, some of them have the piano sound swapped out for their normal sound. I am at a loss for what to do. I can save it as a WAV file which works well but I can't share WAV's on this site. I did not have this problem with it before so I was wondering if anyone knew if it's some sort of glitch that can happen in the software. Whatever is causing this, it's extremely annoying and it definitely detracts from the experience of listening to it. Thanks!

Of Fire and Ice.mp3 A short piece that I wrote for a Roleplay I was taking part in a while back meant to capture the two personalities of a fire mage and an Ice mage as they worked and lived together. This piece starts off with only a piano introduction before giving way to the orchestra in bar 9. From there it goes through a couple theme variations before ending back with the original theme. It is approximately 2:31 long, and stays in the key of B Major. There is a tempo change in bar 15, and again back to the original tempo in measure 67. It is the shortest piece that I have completed, and will be found on the album, "Dust of the Past" when I release it as soon as I'm finished writing and mastering the final track that will be on it.

Here's a little waltz that I wrote in 2015, but never got around to finishing until recently. I hope you like it!

Hello everybody, Today I finished my fourth symphony. To be honest, I hate to write orchestral music, because it feels like I am drowing in an ocean of possibilities and material. Yet I wanted to 'practice' my orchestration skills. The form of the piece is inspired by mosaic form, because for me recognition is one of the driving factors in the music. The lay-out and final corrections still have to be done. I am sorry for the very small staves, but this is needed, otherwise not all instruments could stand on the page. ''Randstad'' is the name of the area located in the West of Holland (Amsterdam, Den Haag, Rotterdam, Utrecht). It is one of Europe's bussiest 'metropoles' (7 million) and this is where most of the economical, social and political activities take place. I don't live in the Randstad, but in the middle of the Netherlands, where actually nothing exciting happens. What I wanted to express with this symphony is the chaotic, but also rich character of the Randstad. I am actually pretty satisfied with the result. What do you think? Any feedback or comments? Maarten (The mp3 file is called ''Nederland,'' which is wrong.)

Hello ^^ I'm a 17 years old young composer, and I recently made this remake of two Paper Mario's music. If you don't know Paper Mario, it's an excellent game on the Nintendo 64, I suggest you to listen to his OST. So as I said, I made my own orchestration of two musics, and I'd like to know what you think about it. Here's a link to my remake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUe5ka6raro I hope you'll like it :D

Hello! My name is Andrew Ambient! I'm an amatorial young italian ambient music composer. I've composed that soft ambient music titled "Green Mountains" with easy harmonic progressions and associated the photo (shot by me) of green mountains in order to show you the immensity of the nature, the infinite. This is my first ambient project album in which I associate images and music. That song also reminds me the Dark Knight Rises's ending scene because is relaxing but a little bit melanchonic. Listen it and tell me which images represent in your mind and which feelings do you feel. Thanks. Andrew. Good Listening! :D ---> "Green Mountains" by Andrew Ambient <---

So some of you may have seen that @chopin released a couple commercials for Music Jotter a little while back, which can be heard here if you haven't: I gladly did one of them, but what you hear from mine is actually my second attempt. I wrote this first commercial and it was a little bit too heavy and dramatic for his liking I still think it works as somewhat of a standalone piece, albeit melodramatic. Hope you enjoy!

I've recently been working on an orchestra piece, and here is the finished product (first draft, at least). I know some of the transitions could be smoother, and I need to add most of the brass parts still. Any advice? https://musescore.com/randomperson555/stars

this is the piece I newly composed, hope everyone like it.

Hi out there! This is my first track I can call "complete". To the title: My girlfriend actually wrote a short story with the same title, and I had the idea to write a soundtrack to it. I imagined this as a film. But I didnĀ“t show it to anyone else in terms of musical feedback. The story is the following: A girl is loosing her older brother in the mountains. He accidentally fell from a cliff and died. In panic and fear of the darkness, she tries to come home before the night. She slips a few times on her way down due to the dangereus rocky ground, but eventually reaches the cliff which separates her from the village she tries to reach. After overcomming her sadness and panic after loosing her brother. She searches for a giant plant, cuts a leaf and jumps from the cliff. The girl flies and feels free from all her emotions of the day and enjoys the freedom of flying, the cold air and the sunset. After landing at the village, totally exhausted she tells her story to the villagers who form a rescue team to find her brother...Feedback is highly welcome! I recorded it with Audacity and MuseScore, so the quality could actually be better in terms of dynamics and the pauses between the scenes... https://soundcloud.com/bati-si/story-of-a-bird-final I attached the score as a pdf :)
