  1. I've been composing for about two months (playing piano for a lot longer) but I have an overall problem with starting and finishing stuff. Most "scores" I write just start kind of instantly and end very sudden. The first one doesn't really have an ending, I think it's better on the last ones but how would you make these longer? Happy Adventure Something.mp3 epic orchestral 2.mp3 dreamy weird stuff.mp3
  2. Hello im novice composer from Argentina and i share with you one of my works. i accept critisisms, they help me improve and i hope you like it.
  3. Hey guys! I wrote a song inspired by world war 2 movies. I've been watching quite a lot lately and I naturally wrote this piece. https://soundcloud.com/nicolasguerrero/rendezvous-with-destiny Let me know your thoughts!

A piece I wrote in Sibelius a couple years ago just to get an idea out, which I then had a lot of fun seeing where I could take it. Hope you enjoy!
  5. Hello friends, i'v been away and busy so long time i have not posted anything. I have created a peace, that i had in mind to be a compilation of seasons (something like Vivaldi 4 seasons), but will see in time. This is the first "autumn" and i think i have developed something that needs a lot of work. For now i think its finished but percussions would be nice to be included also. I use FL Studios ( you can check my profile and see that i dont provide music sheet) AND sorry for that! But ill try to write it down in time and provide you if must be. (i am learning to write music so... bare with me on that) :D Please correct me, give me advice, tell me whats bad, whats incorrect and most of all tell me what you guys think of this :) Cheeeers!! p,s my main inspirations are movies/games soundtracks, so dont be judgemental on some parts if are used :DValley of eternal Fall.mp3Valley of eternal Fall.mp3
  6. I uploaded it only for this forum, because mp4 files can't be uploaded here. So please don't share it with anyone without my premission. I know it's not great, but I'd like to hear your opinion anyway. Thanks :P *I had no choir samples when I made this one, so every time I wanted to show that something that has something to do with the final defeat of the dark lord, I used chimes, that sounds like the church bells.
  7. Hey guys I thought I would try to write an orchestral piece and I wanted some feedback on how its constructed and how I could improve. I wanted to just loop 1 similar idea and see what I could do with it. I plan on developing the main melody as it goes on so its not as repetitive
  8. I have always been a big admirer of this speech, having heard some other backing music put to it I thought I would try myself. What do you think??
  9. 3 tracks I composed for an indie horror video game project, which was unfortunately discontinued by it's creator after some time. Decided to still upload these pieces, since it was my first real attempt in writing something in this style.
  10. This is my first piece that I write that uses more than just piano and strings, it turned out to be an interesting experience but I still think something is lacking. In need of serious feedback.
  11. Hello Guys, I decided, I compose a symphony. This is the first movement, when will be ready the whole composition, I'm gonna make a score. Share your opinion with me! :)
  12. Thanks to all enjoyed my previous topic whereas I posted several pieces I've written which you can find at this link: Batch Pt. 1 & 2 In this topic I would love to share a political video I've written, accompanied by a piece I worked really hard on. It describes the nature of what we became as a species and painful truths: Below is a piece I've written to describe what it would feel like to travel through the devil's gate for the first time starting from the beginning. When it begins to pick up in tempo toward the middle, I wanted to give a sense of Heaven vs. Hell. When the female voice come in at the end, it is my depiction of Eve feeling much guilt and shame for cursing women due to temptation and is singing from Hell for God's forgiveness. Finally, in the music player below are several pieces that were left unfinished, either due to my: laziness, exhaustion, or I was unmotivated. (Note: The piece entitled "track 4" was an unfinished collaboration with a member who lost her user name? She hasn't logged in for a while now.) Hope you guys love the music and please be sure to post your critiques!
  13. Hi, I would like to share some of my previous works to newer members and anyone who would love to listen to them. And guys if you have enjoyed listening to these, please visit an earlier post where I also uploaded my most popular viewed pieces here at this link: Batch of Pieces Pt. 2 I would love to hear your feedback and allow me the chance to follow your music and also enjoy what you guys have posted. Thanks a lot everyone!
  14. Just some music I put to a slideshow of some stunning pictures I found on YouTube. Feedback very welcome 👍
  15. Hi! I'm a seventeen-year-old aspiring film composer really hoping to be able to get into a college for Music Composition. However, I know virtually nothing about composing and I have to have finished compositions to send in. Background: I am proficient at piano (had private lessons for 12 years), and fell in love with film music a few years ago. Now I desperately want to become a film composer but I'm not sure how to start and I currently feel like I'm drowning in everything I don't know at the moment. : ) I'm using MuseScore and I'm hoping you guys can tell me what you think about these ideas and how to improve them. None of them are finished, but they're literally all I have at the moment. Thanks! Theme_Practice.xml Rhapsody for String Orchestra.xml College_Application_Piece.xml Test.xml
  16. Hey peeps, Put this together today for another scene. Starts with a girl getting off a plane, montage through the airport, before catching an uber and having an awkward conversation. Looking for any feedback you might have!
  17. Hey all! I was hoping I could post this here, and have you guys review my composition. I only ask that if you do enjoy my creation, that you please share it on social media, by sharing it from the video page here: Just allow yourself to listen - that is all-- http://indi.com/95ktp
  18. Hi all, I had this idea for piano but wound up trying to orchestrate it over the past few days. I'm open to any suggestions and comments. Also, a question: saving MIDI out of Finale has been sounding terrible lately. The instruments all sound terrible and cheap. AND as you'll year, some of them have the piano sound swapped out for their normal sound. I am at a loss for what to do. I can save it as a WAV file which works well but I can't share WAV's on this site. I did not have this problem with it before so I was wondering if anyone knew if it's some sort of glitch that can happen in the software. Whatever is causing this, it's extremely annoying and it definitely detracts from the experience of listening to it. Thanks!
  19. Hey people would love some feedback on this track :) please criticize the crap out of it if you want - anything is welcome. Thanks guys, your input has shaped my composing more than i can express and I appreciate and value every word of it.
  20. Hi fellow composers! My name is Kian, a Shanghai, China based composer and visual media audio specialist. I'm a graduate of the world prestigious Berklee College of Music and have had more than 10 years of industry experience working on a range of projects including AAA+ games such as Eve Online, Dishonored, Spec Ops: The Line, Dust 514 and block buster Chinese films notably Wolf Warrior. You may find more information about me and my works through my website: www.kianhow.com After more than 10 years of being in the industry and having spent considerable time working in the East and West, I have accumulated much highly valuable experience which I believe will help composers navigate through their careers with much ease. And considering the rise of the economic powers of Asian countries in recent years, there will be more opportunities for composers to explore in this region and I will have highly valuable information that can help aspiring composers intending to exploit the growing markets of the east. I have written a series of articles with the specific purpose of assisting composers achieving their goals. If you find my articles to have provided any value to you, do share it to others as sharing is caring and if there's any questions or topics you'd like me to write about, do get in touch with me :) https://www.kianhow.com/single-post/2017/08/08/Truths-About-Being-a-ComposerThat-You-Should-Know-1-Understanding-the-realities-of-being-a-composer https://www.kianhow.com/single-post/2017/08/08/Truths-About-Being-a-ComposerThat-You-Should-Know-2-Understanding-the-function-of-a-“work-for-hire”-composer Thanks and I wish all of you the best of luck with your careers! -Kian Music Composer | Visual Media Audio Specialist www.kianhow.com
  21. Just want to hear opinions and corrections on my work i know there is a lot i made bad/wrong :D Its just by ear and no theory involved at all. Thanks have a great day all
  22. Hey guys, I'm really interested in producing orchestral stuff lately. Because my arrangements aren't the best ones so far, I want to learn from other projects before I compose whole orchestral songs. In my opinion, the best way to do this, is to make great songs even greater and learn from them. If you don't know what an orchestral intro is, just search on YouTube for "Orchestral Intro Edit". It's basically a short intro of your song (EDM for example), which keeps the style of your song, but is made out of high quality orchestral instruments. What do you have to do? If you want an intro for free, just send me all MIDI files of your song to: "yourfuturemusic@freenet.de" If I like the song and think an orchestral intro would sound good there, I will come back to you after my holidays. With sending me your MIDI files, you agree and allow me to upload the final result onto my YouTube channel and monetize the video, if I decide to do an intro for you. This could be also a great promotion for you and your song, since my YouTube channel has 85.000+ subscribers. Is it worth for you to get one? Well... It's for free right? If you like it, you have a great new intro for your song. If you don't like it, you've lost nothing ;) Can't wait to hear your creations :)
