Try to be philosophical and consider for a moment what might the role and function of musical composition be for humanity, what its goal or purpose could be. Is it the same as the goal of all art or different from that of other arts? What exactly is happening in the creation of a piece of music? To make the question even broader, one might ask "what is the goal of music?"
